TOP TIPS BEFORE BURNING

    1. LET YOUR CANDLE ADJUST

Our candles are made with a natural soy and coconut wax. This makes them sensitive to drastic changes in temperature. When your candle arrives, let it adjust to the indoor temperature before burning, especially if it's been left outside in the cold. You might notice what we call pooling, where the fragrance oil leaks out of the wax, this is completely normal and will settle as the candle adjusts.

    2. SAFETY FIRST

Burn your candle on a levelled surface away from drafts, children and pets. Never leave a candle unattended or close to furnishings such as curtains. If you wish to keep your candle on your mantlepiece or on your bookshelf make sure to move it to a different location when burning. Never keep your candle in a location where the sun can reach it such as a window, the sun can melt the wax!

    3. BURN FOR 2-4 HOURS

When burning your candle for the first time make sure it has enough time to melt all the way to the edge of the glass. This will prevent that classic dip in the wax that appears if a candle is only burnt for a short amount of time the first time it's used. By doing this you'll extend the life of your candle since it makes sure all the wax has a chance to heat up. But remember to never burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at any time.

GOOD TO KNOW

    TRIM THE WICK

You won't need to trim the wick when burning your candle for the first time but it's important to make sure you always keep the wick at 5 mm for any consecutive burns. This helps avoid mushrooming of the wick and keeps your candle nice and clean, free from potential soot.

    NATURAL FEATURES

If you notice any air bubbles at the side of the glass, these are a completely natural feature – known as wet spots. They are common in hand poured candles and are caused by the shrinkage as the wax cools inside the glass. This in no way affects the burning experience – your candle will still smell amazing and burn beautifully!
