Animal Fats, Oils and Musks: Because we don't believe it's necessary to exploit animals to create a beautifully smelling candle.

Lead: All our wicks are lead free to avoid lead particles spreading through the air when our candles are lit.

Parabens: Common in cosmetics and personal care and often used to prolong the shelf-life of scented candles but an ingredient we've opted out of due to its potential health risks when burnt.

Paraffin: Paraffin wax is the most common wax used in candles due to it being a cheaper option. However, paraffin is derived from petroleum and releases toxins into the air when burnt. One of the toxic chemicals paraffin wax can release is toluene, a benzene derivative and a known carcinogen for humans which is why we avoid it at all costs.

Phthalates: Many synthetic fragrance oils used in scented candles contain Phthalates which are released into the air when the candle is burnt. If inhaled or absorbed through the skin it can enter the bloodstream and exacerbate allergic symptoms and even potentially alter hormone levels in the body. For us this is a no go, which is why all our fragrance oils (including the synthetic ones) are free from Phthalates.

Synthetic Dyes: We don't use any dye in our wax, not only do we think the natural wax looks more beautiful on its own but synthetic dyes also contain toxic chemicals which are released into the air when a candle is burnt and this is the main reason we avoid it.
